All songs and lyrics are composed, written, produced, performed and mixed by Illnoledge and mastered by Frederik Dejongh at Jerboa Mastering. Released by Mink Records. Illnoledge is a cosmic brother duo of Stephen “Steve Hartley” Linger and Milton “Mill Voyance” Leo Linger, based in Amsterdam. Coming from a musical and artistic but also deeply spiritual household, they blend these elements within their musical style, shaping their direction in life. Their music has been likened to that of Sun Ra, D’Angelo, J Dilla, and others.
I.L.L.N.O.L.E.D.G.E. is an acronym for: Intuitive, Limitless, Liberal-minded, New-fangled, Original, Luminous, Educative, Dedicated, Genuine, Elevators. Inspired by their musical upbringing and multi-layered cultural heritage (including Surinamese, West Indian Welsh and Scottish), their style blends influences from afrobeat, soul, latin, jazz, and reggae, creating hypnotic heartbeat rhythms, mystical melodies, and cryptic lyrics that convey a deep spiritual and cultural philosophy. Rooted in ancestral memory with a futuristic approach, Steve and Mill are dedicated to fulfilling the role of messengers that channel information in the form of music from a realm where linear time is absent, through an understanding that the past, present and future all flow at once.
