New Signing: Jazz band SWART.
New release announcement! over the past few months we’ve been collaborating with Dutch/Spanish Jazz formation SWART.
Composer and saxophonist Celia Swart met her four Spanish band members during their time at the Royal Conservatoire, in The Hague. Their music has been described as an interesting fusion between the creativity from the Northern composition school and the contagious, passionate energy from the South.
SWART. has just finished recording in the studio and will be releasing their debut album with us on the 1st of June. So more soon!
New Signing: The Mighty Breaks
Exciting news! We are going to be releasing The Mighty Breaks’ new EP on the 20th of April! We’ll be celebrating that evening with a release show in Rotterdam (V11), hosted by Raven Aartsen. Check out the poster for more live dates.
The Mighty Breaks are a six piece garage band from the Netherlands. Known for their high energy live shows, the band’s weapons of choice are fuzzy guitars, keyboard riffs and a saxophone, a combination so constructed that it would make any set of ears twitch. Their Garage Pop/90’s Alternative sound is inspired by artists like Guided by Voices, Black Lips and The Dandy Warhols.

Mink Records & Pitou at Subcity Radio, Glasgow
Last week we were guests at Subcity Radio, Glasgow. Mink Records founder Marieke McKenna had a chat with Jeremy about Mink, plans for 2017 and the music scenes in Amsterdam, The Hague and Glasgow. Pitou did a lovely live session, performing 5 of her songs, some from the recently released EP and some unreleased ones. We also played tunes by some of our favourite upcoming bands from the Dutch indie scene, and some old classics by artists like Mazzy Star, Bert Jansch, Machito & Herbie Mann, Donovan, Nick Drake, Hugh Masekela and Neşe Karaböcek.
